Mozilla wrote in the update log: "We released a brand new engine last November. In January of this year we made a significant improvement in graphics rendering. In this release we continue to improve performance and introduce many new features. Android-based Firefox, we have used the HLS protocol to support webcasting."
Android's Firefox 59 also allows users to lock the full screen in landscape modevideo, to improve the privacy browsing mode, to prevent third-party data leakage by removing path information sent to third-party websites when users visit web pages, and to delete the “about:” page.
Mozilla recommends that Android users use the "About Firefox" dialog instead of the "about:" page to learn about browsers. In addition, since this version, Mozilla added Firefox as an Assist App instead of the Firefox Search disassembly, allowing Android users to long press the Home button on the device to perform web search.
In other respects, Android users can easily turn the website into a local application, open and run on the device's home screen, and support FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) lossless audio format. Firefox 59 also supports Bengali from Bangladesh (bn-BD) and Nepali (ne-NP) languages.
