Tencent science and Technology (Tencent), according to foreign media reports, Japanese company pine said on Thursday that the company was open to the United States electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, in the construction plant in Shanghai.

Yoshio Ito, head of Matsushita automotive and industrial systems, said on Thursday that the company had not yet received Tesla's request for cooperation in China. Itou Kashio said Although Panasonic has a factory in Dalian, it can't supply to Tesla because it produces a square battery, different from the use of a cylindrical battery in Tesla.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, plans to build an electric vehicle assembly plant in China. The company plans to start production in two years and eventually achieve the target of 500 thousand vehicles per year. Although musk said the plant would also manufacture batteries, it did not elaborate on suppliers. Panasonic is a natural choice because the company is already the exclusive battery supplier in Tesla and is a partner in Tesla's Gigafactory, Nevada.

Matsushita produces batteries, and Tesla uses Panasonic batteries to make the batteries needed for electric vehicles. Panasonic also provides batteries for TOYOTA and Volkswagen produced plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Tesla is seeking to expand its capacity and is seeking to enter the global market more effectively. Musk said more than two years ago that he predicted that Tesla's assembly line in fremond, California, would be able to make more than 500 thousand electric vehicles in 2018, but because the Model 3 was too slow, it might not be able to achieve the target of 500 thousand electric vehicles this year. In the first half of this year, Tesla made up about 88 thousand electric vehicles. Mask also said he plans to disclose plans to build factories in Europe by the end of this year, but has not talked about the battery manufacturing plan.
